Jesus and animal rights

Piglet"Christ of the Wilderness, hear our confession.
We are MacDonald's, we confess our sin,
This is our temple, where we eat our fast feasts,
We are ready to enjoy a happy meal, but not to eat a meal of sadness for injustice.
HUNGRY GOD - HAVE MERCY ON US."

Andrew Jones explains what a 'Cruelty-free Christmas' is all about, and why Jesus followers should support a standard of animal welfare. He will be happy to know that the Netherlands now has an Animal Party in Parliament, of which the leader was elected 'political animal talent of the year'.

Yes, I would support any boycot of fast-food restaurants. The animal issue is one thing, but the food is also quite ugly, the floors and tables are greasy, the atmosphere is noisy, the chairs are intentionally uncomfortable to make you move as soon as you finish your meal so they can handle more customers and make more money. So rather a dry piece of bread than a Big Mac.

If you prefer foie gras over a Big Mac or a piece of bread, then check out this YouTube movie that Kees van Velzen mailed me.

Amen.
I do not eat at fast food places, exactly for the reasons you mentioned. Besides the food is just plain bad for you.

A measure of our Christianity and humanity is how we treat all living things. There should be no place for cruelty in any part of our lives.

But we need balance. We can never put animals before humans or let animals suffer for the pleasure of humans.

Good post and it has me thinking about where I shop and how that live stock has been treated.

thanks for the link, Marc

happy new year to you!!!!

I sawthe You Tube Video and I will never eat another animal as long as I live. OMG.
