We paid a visit to Lindisfarne (Holy Island), the main former Celtic missions base in Northumberland, founded by Aidan from Iona. Just made it in time, as with high tide the peninsula turns into an island. One of the mysteries of the Celtic apostles is that they founded their monastic bases in the most remote places, while at the same being extremely succesful in missions.

Hi Marc. You passed right by our house on your way from the ferry landing to Lindisfarne. Next time please call in!
