Thanks to Roderick Vonhögen, a priest of the Archdiocese of Utrecht, the archaic Roman Catholic Church is becoming one of the most innovative players in podcasting and videoblogs. Several months ago he started the Catholic Insider, a podcast that became immensely popular among non-Catholics because Roderick understands how to take people "on a journey of discovery through the fascinating world of the Catholic Church." His podcasts are "shows filled with music, humor, soundseeingtours, documentaries, interviews and much more."
His series on 'The Secrets of Harry Potter' is simply excellent. He brings a lot of symbolism back to God's Story, in a non-imposing way. He also has a series on StarWars, and podcasted about his recent trip through Ireland. The Praystation, a daily morning and evening prayer is too liturgic for my taste, but the idea of a daily prayerpodcast is great. His latest invention is the CatholicMinute, "your visual fast guide to the Catholic universe," a videopodcast. For Dutch television program 'De Wereld Draait Door' reason to interview him.
