My son David (4) is discovering the superlative degrees. When I explained to him that a movie screen is as big as our living room wall, he said: "No daddy, it's a hundredthousand times bigger!" When grandma observed that Peter (2) can walk the stairs very well on his own, David said: "Yes, Peter can even take ten stairs in one step!"
And when Karolien made a remark about the temperature outside, David said: "Mum, I can handle the cold, because I'm very strong. I'm even stronger than God!" Karolien said: "Are you sure about that? I think God is stronger than all people together." David, after a pause: "OK, then I'm as strong as a giant, like Goliath!" Karolien: "But you know how that story ended..." David: "Then I'm a giant, but not Goliath." I suggested it might be more practical to just stay David, who has a big God behind him...
